Made a change you don't like? No problem. Clyro keeps a complete history of your edits, making it easy to go back to any previous version.
Quick Undo
For your most recent change, you can use the quick undo:
- 1.Click the "Undo" button in the top toolbar
- 2.Or press
Cmd/Ctrl + Z
This immediately reverts your last change.
Rolling Back to an Earlier Version
To go back further than your last edit:
- 1.Click "History" in the sidebar (or the clock icon)
- 2.Browse through your edit history
- 3.Click on any version to preview it
- 4.Click "Restore this version" to roll back
- 5.Confirm the rollback
Good to know: Rolling back doesn't delete your newer versions. They stay in your history, so you can always go forward again if you change your mind.
Understanding Your Edit History
The history panel shows:
- •Timestamp: When each edit was made
- •Description: What was changed (based on your command)
- •Files modified: Which theme files were affected
- •Preview: Click to see how your store looked at that point
History Retention
How long your history is kept depends on your plan:
Partial Rollbacks
Sometimes you want to undo one specific change without losing others. Clyro supports this:
- 1.Go to History
- 2.Find the change you want to undo
- 3.Click the three-dot menu
- 4.Select "Undo only this change"
Note: Partial rollbacks may not always be possible if later changes depend on the one you're trying to undo.
Creating Checkpoints
Before making major changes, you can create a named checkpoint:
- 1.Click "History" in the sidebar
- 2.Click "Create Checkpoint"
- 3.Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Before Black Friday redesign")
- 4.Click Save
Checkpoints make it easy to find and restore important versions later.
What Rollback Doesn't Affect
Rolling back only affects theme code. It won't change:
- •Your products, collections, or pages in Shopify
- •Your Shopify settings
- •Images uploaded to Shopify's CDN
- •Third-party app configurations
Best Practices
- •Create checkpoints before major redesigns
- •Review changes in preview before applying
- •Use descriptive commands so history is easy to navigate
- •Don't be afraid to experiment, you can always roll back!
