Impact Theme Shopify Review (2026): Pros, Cons & Alternatives

Impact is the theme Maestrooo built after learning what merchants kept asking their older themes to do. It is the most feature-dense product in their catalog, and the one most often bought by stores that have outgrown a starter theme but do not want a custom build yet.

What is the Impact theme?

Impact is a premium Shopify 2.0 theme from Maestrooo, built for stores that are scaling: heavy on conversion features, section variety and merchandising controls. Where their Prestige leans quiet and editorial and Warehouse leans dense and utilitarian, Impact tries to cover both by giving you more switches than either.

Pricing sits in the Theme Store's premium band, where paid themes generally run $300 to $500 one-time with a lifetime license for one store. Confirm the current figure on the listing.

What it does well

Breadth of sections. Impact ships with a wide library of section types, which means fewer moments where you want something the theme simply cannot express. For a merchant who does not want to commission custom work, that breadth is the product.

Conversion features without apps. Quick buy, sticky add-to-cart, bundle and upsell presentation, and complementary product blocks come built in. Each one you do not install as an app is a monthly fee you do not pay and a script that does not load on every page, which is a real compounding saving.

Merchandising controls. Collection page behavior, filtering and sorting are more configurable than most premium themes, which matters as the catalog grows past a few dozen SKUs.

Maestrooo maintains it. The studio has been in this ecosystem long enough to keep themes current through Shopify's platform changes, which is what you are actually buying with a premium theme after year one.

Where it falls short

Feature density is a setup cost. The same breadth that avoids the "the theme cannot do that" wall means a long first configuration. Expect to spend real time in the theme editor deciding things, and expect some of those decisions to be ones you did not know you had to make.

More switches is not the same as your structure. Impact anticipates a lot, and anticipating is still not the same as building for your case. The first time you want a section arranged in a way none of the presets cover, you are back to Liquid or a developer, and the wide feature list makes that wall feel more surprising when you hit it.

Easy to over-configure. With this many conversion features available, the temptation is to switch them all on: badges, timers, upsells, sticky bars. A product page carrying every one of them converts worse than a calm one, and the theme will happily let you build it. Restraint is on you.

It looks like Impact. Feature-rich premium themes have a recognizable rhythm, and merchants who compare stores in your category will see it.

Alternatives to Impact

Within the same studio, Prestige is the restrained option and Warehouse is the catalog-first one. From other studios, Motion and Broadcast trade feature count for a stronger visual point of view. On the marketplace side, Ella and Kalles offer similar density at a lower price with less consistent code quality.

The structural alternative is to stop choosing between feature sets someone else picked. Generating the theme produces the sections your store actually needs, as real Liquid you own, and adding one later is a sentence rather than a hunt through settings or a hope that the next theme includes it.

FAQ

Is the Impact theme good for conversions? The features that support conversion are there and well built. Whether they convert depends on restraint: the stores that do best with Impact use a few of them deliberately rather than all of them at once. Our Shopify CRO guide covers which ones actually earn their place.

Impact vs Prestige: which should I buy? The main difference between Impact and Prestige is features versus restraint: Impact ships merchandising and conversion tools built in, while Prestige stays quiet so photography carries the page. Prestige if your product photography carries the store and you want quiet, editorial presentation. Impact if you need merchandising controls, built-in upsells and a wide section library, and you are willing to spend the setup time.

Is Impact good for large catalogs? Reasonably, and it is more flexible than Warehouse for stores that also need brand presence. For pure high-SKU findability, Warehouse is the more specialized tool.

Is Impact fast? It can be, and it depends on how much you switch on. A theme with this many optional features loads what you enable, so an over-configured Impact store is a slow one. Measure Largest Contentful Paint on your product page over mobile data, not the homepage on wifi.
