Build a Shopify store in 2 minutes.

Publishing to Shopify

Export a verified theme ZIP from Clyro, upload it to your store, and know exactly what to do if something looks off.

Once your theme is ready, getting it live takes about two minutes. Here is the full path, and what makes Clyro exports different: your theme is verified on a real Shopify store before you ever download it.

Export from Clyro

  1. Click Export in the top right of the editor
  2. Optionally rename the file
  3. Accept the Terms of Service checkbox
  4. Click Export and you get a .zip

What happens under the hood

Before the ZIP is packaged, Clyro runs the same validation Shopify runs - and then goes further: your theme is pushed to a real Shopify development store, so Shopify's own upload checks execute against it for real. If anything fails, the errors go straight to the chat and the AI fixes them. You never download a ZIP that Shopify will reject.

Upload to Shopify

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes
  2. Click Add theme in the top right
  3. Select Upload zip file
  4. Choose the .zip from Clyro and wait 10-30 seconds

Preview and publish

Your theme lands in the Theme library. Before going live:

  • Click Preview to check it against your real store data
  • Test on mobile - the Shopify preview has a device toggle
  • Walk through product pages, collections, and the cart

When it all looks right, click Publish.

Tip: Your old theme is never deleted. Shopify keeps it in the library, so you can always switch back.

If something looks wrong after uploading

Go back to Clyro and describe what you see, in plain words:

"I uploaded the theme and my homepage is blank"

"The product page shows an error after upload"

"The header is gone on the live store"

The AI investigates, fixes the issue, and you re-export. Remember the preview in Clyro uses mock data - content differences (your real products, collections, menus) appear only after upload, and that's normal.

Still stuck?

Send us the error on Discord or at support@clyro.com with the error text, and we'll help you fix it.
